The hand-printing was clearly placed by hand and has that soft edge that proves it is real batik, which I noticed straight away. The shape works with flats and a small heel and is comfortable enough to nap in.
Took it away for a weekend with one small bag and it did not ride up once. The base cloth is fully opaque and is cool enough for May afternoons.
Went back and forth on the colour for a week and I would do it again in a heartbeat. The fabric quality still looks new four months on and has zero see-through in daylight months into wearing it. My only problem is wanting the rest of the collection.
Bought this for a wedding I had nothing for and I am glad I did. The viscose catches light through the slub and moves well when you walk. The tailoring held through a long day of sitting and was right first try. Have already worn it more than anything else I bought this year.
Asked a friend at a party where hers was from and it fit straight out of the packet. The colour is more wearable than the photos suggest and is far richer in person than on screen, which makes it feel one of a kind. The shoulder line looks intentional rather than loose and reads tailored rather than mass-produced. Wore it to a gallery opening and I got away with almost no jewellery.
The hand of the cloth has a lovely slubby texture and drapes instead of standing stiff to be specific. The fit has held its shape at the seams and suited my shoulders unusually well even standing all evening.
Was torn between this and one other set and I would pay the same again. The length is forgiving around the middle and runs exactly as listed — a relief when ordering online. The fall of the fabric dries fast on the line and shows no pilling whatsoever.
Ordered two weeks out from an event and I finally understand the fuss. The stitching lets me sit cross-legged without thinking and did not gape once all evening even on a pear-shaped frame. The print looks nothing like mass-printed fabric and gets more interesting the closer you look. Would gift this without hesitation.
