Orders and shipping

How long will my order take to reach me?

We usually dispatch within 2 to 4 working days. After that, delivery takes about 3 to 7 working days, depending on where you are and the courier.

Is shipping free?

Yes, shipping is free on all prepaid orders.

Do you offer cash on delivery?

Yes, on orders under ₹6,000. A ₹99 COD fee applies.

Do you ship across India?

Yes, we ship all over India. You'll see whether your pincode is serviceable when you enter your address at checkout.

Do you ship internationally?

Yes. Shipping charges are worked out at checkout based on your country, the weight of the parcel and courier rates. Please note that international orders can't be returned or refunded. Exchanges are possible, but shipping and customs costs for them are paid by you.

Can I get my order faster?

Sometimes, yes. Write to our customer care team and we'll see if express shipping can be arranged. It may cost extra.

How do I track my order?

You can track it from your order details on our website. We also send tracking updates on WhatsApp and email once your order ships.

Products and sizing

Is every Shades of You piece real batik?

Yes. Wax is laid on the cloth by block, brush or hand by our karigars, in small batches. Because the wax cracks differently every time, no two pieces come out exactly alike. See how batik happens.

How do I choose the right size?

Every product page has a size chart. Please check your measurements against it before you order. If you're unsure, message us and we'll help you pick. Wear 3XL or above? Our plus-size guide lists the styles that go to 4XL, 5XL and 6XL.

Can I get a piece made to my measurements?

Our festive pieces can be made to measure; the product page will say so. Every other style can be customised, so message us before you order and tell us what you need.

What if the size doesn't fit?

You can exchange for another size within 7 days of delivery, as long as it's in stock. If it isn't, we'll give you store credit.

Are your pieces ready-made or made to order?

Most pieces are ready-made. Pieces from the Heirloom Collection and our silk pieces are made to order, and the product page will say so.

Are your fabrics natural?

Yes. We work with natural fabrics like cotton, modal and silk, chosen to feel soft and breathe well. We never use polyester. Not sure which to pick? Read cotton, modal or viscose: which fabric for which day.

Returns, exchanges and refunds

How do I start a return or exchange?

Email us at team@shadesofyou.co.in within 7 days of delivery with your order ID and the reason.

Can every piece be returned?

Pieces from the Heirloom Collection can be exchanged but not returned. Custom-made or altered pieces can't be returned or exchanged.

Do you pick up returns?

Yes. Once your request is approved, we arrange a pickup from your address.

How soon will I get my refund?

If you send us clear photos or a video of the parcel being handed to the pickup agent, along with the pickup receipt or AWB number, we start your refund straight away. Otherwise we refund within 7 working days of the piece reaching us and passing a quality check.

Is the COD fee refunded?

Yes. On a return we refund the full order value, including the ₹99 COD fee.

What if my piece arrives damaged, defective or wrong?

Please tell us within 48 hours of delivery and share clear photos or videos of the problem, along with an unboxing video. Once we've checked, we'll send a replacement or give you a full refund at no extra cost.

Store credit

When do you give store credit?

When the size or style you want to exchange for isn't available, and in some other approved cases.

How long is store credit valid?

Six months from the day it's issued.

Can I transfer store credit or get it as cash?

No. Store credit can't be transferred or exchanged for cash.

Handmade pieces

Why does my piece look slightly different from the photos?

Every piece is waxed and dyed by hand, so small differences in colour, crackle and print placement are normal. It's what makes yours one of a kind.

Can the colour look different from my screen?

A little, yes. Screen settings, lighting and photography can all shift how a colour looks.

How should I wash it?

Wash it separately the first time. After that, wash with similar colours in cold water on a gentle cycle, or by hand. Use a mild liquid detergent and skip bleach and fabric softener.
